Budding playwrights explore horror and patriotism
With Scenarists’ Den, most topics are within reach, just a split second of imagination away! Last year, we explore script writing in a wide variety of genres, including science fiction, horror and historical fiction.
We started our first project with the sci-fi genre. The name of the project was ‘Mission Infinity’ where students focused their plot on colonizing the planet Mars. Students brainstormed in groups and came up with interesting stories on the theme.
In their second project they focused on horror genre. Like with the first project, after completing the plot, students moved on to character designing, and to act and scene determining. Students conducted a lot of research by themselves, then they made rough sketches on their note copies. Gradually few students could pick up the pace and manage to design the layouts of characters and scenes. Here is the resulting video presentation.
Then students wrote another script focusing patriotism on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibor Rahman.
And the final project was an adventurous playwright on Atlantis. In each script, students showed collaboration, creativity and excellent writing skills.
